Nikos Galenianos is a composer and performer currently based in Athens and the Hague. He has special interest for the innate musicality of existing texts, their rhythmical qualities and the pulse of the language itself. He has dealt with medieval and ancient sources such as Dante’s Inferno, Milton’s Paradise Lost, ancient Greek tragedy etc. The tools that have come up by this process are also used throughout his acoustic and electronic sonic world.
His work is often combined with theatre which has resulted in large scale performances. His music has been performed in venues and occasions such as Gaudeamus festival, the Greek National Opera, the Greek National theatre and the ancient theatre of Epidaurus.
