Hecuba is an ancient Greek tragedy by Euripides, written at approx 424BC. It focuses on Hecuba, who, according to Greek mythology, was the queen of the fallen city of Troy. The first part consists of the sacrifice of her daughter Polyxena by the Greeks and her lamentation. The second part deals with the revenge she takes from Polymestor for killing her son Polydorus, by slaughtering his children and blinding him.
The composed music consists of the voices of the Trojan women’s chorus, accordion and electronics (fixed media).
